China-Originated Innovation

CMC-China 2026, SynBio floor, medical cosmetics: YY/T 10001-2026 makes biotech cosmetic ingredients a supplier dossier from 1 May 2027

NMPA’s YY/T 10001-2026 sets general technical requirements for biotechnology-derived cosmetic ingredients from 1 May 2027. Read as a supplier dossier, it tells HA, PN and rhCOL3 sellers what their Chinese vendors and competitors will be measured against.

One screen, one standard code

SUZHOU, 4–5 Sep 2026. If you only remember one screen from Hall C, remember the one with a standard code.

The speaker put up YY/T 10001-2026, General technical requirements for biotechnology-derived cosmetic ingredients. NMPA published it on 3 April 2026. It takes effect 1 May 2027. Scope: fermentation, cell, protein, enzyme, and genetic engineering. Strain identity, marker genes, host toxins, process, quality control (QC). It was a risk list: pathogenic or mutant strains, mycotoxins, biogenic amines, residual protein, macromolecules that denature in heat or acid, nutrient-rich broths that fail micro.

That is a supplier dossier, written as a cosmetic industry standard.

China already split the collagen market on that line

Class II dressings and gels are a crowd: hundreds of certificates, price compression. Class III injectables held five recombinant collagen registration certificates by end-2025, per a CITIC count. HTL’s China medical-device master file for polynucleotide raw material is recorded as M2024199-000 (company-reported). If you sell pharma-grade hyaluronic acid (HA), polynucleotide (PN), or recombinant human type III collagen (rhCOL3), Hall C is your vendor and competitor pipeline.

Drug classification is a different conversation

A different screen compared drug classification logic. China sorts by degree of innovation, plus site and whether the product is originator or already listed. The US sorts by how complete the safety and efficacy package is, and by who may reference it. The EU sorts into full, abridged, and generic-abridged. Useful for chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC). Do not mash it into YY/T 10001. Two boxes, two conversations.

The hall directory made the mash-up official

C103 on 4 Sep was functional skincare. C103 on 5 Sep was listed as cosmetic enhancement and pharmaceutical/medical-device innovation, including nanocrystal transdermal. Same room code. Different claim set. That is the whole China problem in one hanging board.
